I got to hole up with @thisisbeckyw and her rad band (@avrilplaysguitar, @jkmbassist and @meganjanemusic) to live track a collection of songs Becky had written chronicling a heavy and “Sick Season” that kept her home for nearly 16 months.

The level of cheeky fortitude that she’s able to speak to that dark cloud with, sung with a helluva swampy rock swagger, makes it seem like it’s gonna be ok despite all evidence to the contrary.

No stranger to such Sisyphean mental health adventures myself, so many of these lyrics hit true, made even more cutting because Becky is just such a dang good writer. Also, did I mention she was on Jeopardy?? I mean - in the Hamlin family, that’s tantamount to knighthood.

Thank goodness I got to hear these songs in my ears for so many days making this record. I’m glad you get to hear them now, too.

Stream / Buy / Listen where music is, go face the day, and in the words of BW herself, Good Luck, You’re Gonna Need It 😎✌🏼

It was both a fun & meaningful experience producing this new song, “In My Blood” for Tenille Townes.

I was so blown away by this woman’s talent as a writer, singer, song interpreter and human!

Danni Nicholls and I holed up in the woods a while ago and made “The Melted Morning” and now “Hear My Voice” (a single from said record) is nominated for “Song of the Year” at the Americana Association UK Awards in the big city across the pond. What a time to be alive. :)

The record that Sarah Potenza and I made this year is finally released into the world today!

What I remember most vividly, at this moment, is how Sarah and I tried to show up for each other at every turn and what a riot of a time we had.

This record feels as big, bold, fun, and generous as I’ve experienced this woman to be. As we made this record together, brick by brick, in small and large ways, we established a very real trust and respect for each other which freed us up to make something as honest or weird or demented as we wanted. I feel so grateful to have made this record with her…especially in a time when I was in a huge confidence slump. I am grateful to have gotten to be around someone who was as righteously supportive and understanding as she was to me.

You can order the record straight from Sarah here https://sarahpotenza.net/or hear it on any of the normal places that people stream music.

Recently, I got to collaborate with choreographer Gina Patterson and write the score for “72 Steps”, a ballet chronicling the story behind the fight for the 19th amendment. It was an incredible experience for me and we’re already dreaming and scheming up more.

Life is weird sometimes. I’ve been a fan of Sound On Sound for a long time and am so dang honored that they came across the pond to visit MOXE.https://www.soundonsound.com/peo…/studio-tour-moxe-nashville

CHINA! (see? You can’t not say it that way anymore) On the bright side, I adore Rachael Yamagata and am so grateful to get to kick around China this month and play with her (and Michael Chaves). I like these people and I like pandas…a lot. #notfakenews

Such a blast producing and co-engineering this EP for Adia Victoria. She is a force in any language….this one just happens to be French.

Spent the day recording Audrey Assad singing some of my favorite songs of all time. It was ok I guess.#WhyAreMyEyesWet
